The Guy On the Chiefs

In the realm of pop music, there is one name that is on everyone's lips - Taylor Swift. The global sensation has risen to unprecedented heights, solidifying her status as a pop icon whose influence extends beyond the boundaries of the music industry as she continues to make headlines in the booming world of Sunday Night Football.

Swift, 33, known for writing hit songs pertaining to past relationships, has encapsulated the nation's attention when it comes to her relationship status… and who her boyfriend of the moment is. As of recently, Swift has been rumored to be dating Travis Kelce, 34 year old tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs, as images of them going to support one another at each other's events have begun to circle the internet. In fact, Swift has been spotted in the stands attending her fourth Chiefs game in a row now, and interestingly enough, the public has started to see a striking difference in Kelce's performance on the field when the major popstar is in attendance.

During the Kansas City Chiefs October 22nd game against the Los Angeles Chargers, CBS displayed a photograph comparing Kelce's stats with and without Swift's presence in the stands. When Taylor had not been in attendance, Kelce averaged 7.0 catches and 46.5 yards per game. However, When Taylor was in attendance, Kecle averaged 8.5 catches and 99 receiving yards per game. Coincidence? I think not!

On the “New Heights” podcast Kelce records with his brother, Jason Kelce, a center for the Philadelphia Eagles, Traivs addresses that he is well aware of his performance has more than doubled when Swift is watching by noting that “It’s kind of hard for [him] to wrap [his] head around…”

Micah Parsons, linebacker for the Dallas Cowboys, defended the tight end’s athletic abilities on his podcast, The Edge with Micah Parsons, noting that “Travis Kelce’s my boy, the best tight end in the league for like the past three, four years, so it’s obviously not Taylor Swift.” However, he did credit the pop star by telling his listeners that “...when there is a bad girl and she’s in attendance and she’s watching you, that gives you an extra boost of confidence.”

All in all, Travis is a great football player, and at the end of the day, Taylor is an unbelievable singer whose cultural imprint is virtually bigger than any other celebrities of the current moment. Travis would probably have continued a successful football career regardless. However, if Taylor and Kelce’s relationship continues to enhance his performance while simultaneously giving the Swifties further insight into her relationship status and off-stage life, seems like a win win to me.
